About Us:

Chicanery is run as a side project by bassoonist Avery Dabe, with help from his friends & family. Chicanery came to be from a desire to improve the quality of commercially available gouged cane. In today's market, much gouged cane is sold that is unsorted, rapid-gouged, and of poor quality. This cane is sold with the objective of making the seller the highest profit possible by having the largest yield from tube cane. Chicanery's business model is to ensure that every piece sold is worth being processed and formed into a finish reed, while still being offered at a fair price.

• Original website designed and created by Drew Dabe, Avery's brother. Drew is a currently attending the University of South Carolina with a major in Computer Science.
• All cane is distributed from Columbia, South Carolina, and Rochester, New York by Lisa and Avery Dabe.
